A type of prototyping that is specific to shoes is the creation of a shoe last. Shoe lasts are created from several materials and the ones pictured here were specifically made from plaster. This helps the shoe last to be extremely durable as well as easy to shape if needed.
I had the opportunity to create my own shoe last specific to my foot size. It helped give me a foundation for creating shoes for myself as it specifically enables any shoes I create with the last to follow every contour of my feet so I can be as comfortable as possible when wearing my shoes.
